Do you have a proven history of delivering results, and want to find a place you can grow into bigger and better roles?

Do you love a challenge, and are looking for a place that will help accelerate your growth?

Are you looking for a unique opportunity where you will have an opportunity to shine, and then be appreciated for what you produce?

If this sounds like you, we've got your perfect job.

If you have a proven history of increasing responsibilities, and are now confident enough to pursue better pay, stronger culture, and a clearer path to growth--this is the role for you.

We have coordinator roles available for multiple departments. The specific tasks for the role differ depending on the department but in general, the coordinator keeps the department running.

They report directly to the Head of the Department and be responsible for a long assortment of tasks: everything from taking notes in high level strategy meetings, to ensuring everyone in the department is following directions, to picking up and sending out mail for the department, to conducting research and helping to implement improvements throughout the department, to managing the office and taking overall care of the Department.

By virtue of your position, you will learn everything about how your department works.

Though you will begin in a coordinator role, we expect you to eventually outgrow this role. When that happens, you'll move into whatever role in the department you're best suited for (or, maybe you move into a different department that fits better).

We're still small (less than 40 people), so this could lead to you heading up entire departments. We have no problem fast-tracking people who work hard and produce.

In fact, we not only hope you move up, we EXPECT you to move up. If you aren't out of this apprenticeship and doing something challenging and crucial in the company in 18-24 months, it means you aren't the right person for this role.

But before you get all excited and start applying, understand one very important thing:

This job is no joke.

Expect to work hard and get results. This is NOT for someone who wants to "play start-up." This role is for a hustler looking for an incredible opportunity to use their drive to learn invaluable skills and advance quickly.

If that describes you, come get it.

Who are we and what do we do?

We’re Scribe Media, and we help people turn their ideas into books.

Book writing is, for most people, a painful and difficult process, loaded with uncertainty and aggravation. Our goal is to make it as simple as possible, so that as many people as possible can write books.

We do this a few different ways. We’ve written a book that details our process that people can follow on their own, or they can follow a structured process with our guidance (we call this Scribe Guided Author), or we can put them through a structured interview process that gets the book out of them in their words and their voice. We call that Scribe Professional, and this describes that process pretty well.

You can see some press about us here.

You can see some of the impact we've had on authors in these stories.

And you can see some of the books we've already published here.

Why our work matters

Our company was started because a frustrated entrepreneur wanted to put all of her incredible knowledge and ideas into a book, but didn't have the time to write it or the patience to deal with the frustrating publishing process. So we solved her problem. The origin story is here.

Her book became an amazing success, and we realized the world was full of these people--smart people who should write a book, but don’t, because the process is needlessly hard.

These people want to write books, but don't have the time or desire to do it the old way, and that's why Scribe exists: we help experts and professionals to turn their ideas and knowledge into books that help the world.

Our process has worked for almost 1000 authors in four years, and we’re growing fast. Our ultimate goal is to be the default publishing option for professionals. If we do that, we'll help create thousands of books that would never have otherwise existed, changing the lives of millions of people. That's really exciting to us.

To see what we mean, here are some author success stories and videos of authors talking about what their books mean to them, and to their readers.

But if you really want to see why we do this...just watch this video of an author we worked with, Philip McKernan.

What's it like being part of Scribe Tribe?

We're not going to try to pitch you a load of corporate doublespeak bullshit about how great we are.

Instead, we’re just going to show you proof.

These are all real tribe members, speaking openly and honestly about all aspects of what it's like to be part of this tribe:

Necessary Skills & Qualifications

Here is the list of skills we believe are necessary for this career.

  • Willing to Drive Results: The #1 value of this tribe is results. Not hard work--RESULTS. If you like to actually get things done, this is the place for you. If you want to just be busy and engage in work theater, this is not the right place.
  • Deep Desire to Improve: We have a culture that is built on everyone working hard to learn and improve and push themselves. Unrelated to improving, but related to another skill we look for, when the application asks you where you currently live, tell us who is buried in Grant's Tomb. Now back to improving: This is very serious--if you don't care about getting better, this is the wrong place.
  • Optimistic & Positive: We believe that optimism and positivity are super powers. If you have a great attitude and your default state is in a good mood, that is a skill.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: We're looking for Coordinators in both Manuscript, which ensures our hundreds of authors' books stay on track, and Operations, which is the heart of the company and through which everything flows. You must be able to stay organized and keep details straight, or it messes with the rest of the company.
  • Enthusiastic Learner: We will be solving new and complex problems together in this role. That often means we need to teach ourselves new skills by conducting research or connecting with outside experts in order to drive forward our results. The idea of learning new things with a large degree of autonomy should absolutely thrill you, rather than terrify you.

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive Pay: $45k-50k [to start]
NOTE: The salary is not all you will make. All tribe members are entitled to discretionary profit sharing. When we say "profit sharing" we don't mean the BS "here's a tiny piece of equity that might be worth something in 10 years." We're already a profitable company, and 25% of the company profit goes to the Tribe. So every time we take profit distribution, you get a share of those actual profits
  • Access To Full Benefits: Instead of spending our money on ping pong tables and beanbag chairs, we give you access to complete health care coverage, dental, life insurance, 401k, and pretty much everything else you could ever want.
  • Be Part Of A Tribe: You saw the videos above. We see ourselves as a tribe of people who are working hard together to accomplish a specific mission (become the default publishing option for professionals), in service of a larger purpose (create books that help the world). We also have a pretty cool set of principles that we live by as a tribe, you should check it out, because this is the operating system for our tribe, and everyone in our company lives the values and principles outlined in this doc.
  • Freedom: You can work from home, work while you travel, work in our office, make your own hours--we don't care. You can wear a three piece suit (like our CEO) or gym clothes (like our founders) or anything else--we don't care. We only care that you have reliable phone and internet connections and that you do your job well.
  • Make A Real Impact: We are a small start-up (still under 50 full time tribe members) and you will be a major part of our team, and help shape our growth. Not only that, you won't just impact the company, you'll impact the world. Books are one of the very best ways to influence other people and change the way they think--and you'll be helping to make them a reality.
  • Fun & Fast-Paced Work: We don’t have boring days. Some are hectic, some are hard, some are incredibly rewarding...but they are never boring and never exactly the same. That's what happens when you're solving real problems for people.
  • Work With Interesting People: You're not just working on any books. Past authors include major company CEOs, famous entrepreneurs, professional athletes, and people with amazing personal stories. These are books people read and use.

EEO Statement
